Gullick laments poor performance

Luke Gullick held his hands up for a poor display on Monday, as he failed to get things right at both ends.

The striker struggled to find his form in the 3-2 defeat at home to Bashley, missing chances and allowing Matt Finlay to steal ahead for the visitors' second goal.

And he admitted afterwards the performance was not one he would be cherishing.

"Nothing went right, we worked hard but we gave away three sloppy goals and I was at fault for the second one," he said.

"He (Finlay) just got infront of me, his foot came up and managed to get it past Chris Snoddy.

"It was just one of those games. If we do not play well or take our chances then we are not going to get anything from the game."

But the 21-year-old former Swindon Supermarine hot shot, who has bagged two goals this season, has vowed not to let the Bluebirds' slow start affect the players.

He said: "If we keep working and do not get down. We've got four points from 12 and we wanted more but we have got stay together and see what happens."

Though Gullick has picked out one positive from the start of the campaign, his blossoming partnership with Sean Seavill.

Seavill supplied Gullick for his goal in the 1-1 draw at Hemel Hempstead on Saturday and Gullick returned the favour for Seavill's first of the season on Monday.

"It is great playing with him and, technically," said Gullick. "He is one of the best players we have got.

"Everyone else is up there and we have got a whole team of great footballers but Sean is a different class."
