Looking for somewhere lovely to take Mum today?

Abbey House Gardens in Malmesbury could be just the place given their fabulous display of spring bulbs.

The gardens, made famous by Ian & Barbara Pollard, the "naked" gardeners, are open on Mother's Day, March 2 between 11.00 and 5.30 on behalf of the National Garden Scheme.

Whatever the weather a visit will be worthwhile - just wrap up if cold or bring a brolly if it's wet.

There's plenty of shelter and you're invited to sample a fabulous cup of tea. Local company Sherston Teas will be on site to let you try some of their wonderful and very different teas, you could even buy Mum a beautifully packaged variety to take home. She'll think of you every time she makes a brew.

Foxley Road Nurseries will also be running a stall at the grounds so that you could plant up Mum's window box or re-arrange a corner of her garden with a long lasting memento of your attention.

The gardens will have been open to the public for 10 years in 2008 so don't miss the chance to see just how beautifully they have developed.

Situated just 5 miles North of J17 of the M4, parking couldn't be easier in the town's Long Stay car park adjacent to the gardens. See the website for directions.
