Siemens Mobility awarded share of £4 billion contracts

Siemens Mobility recently secured first place on Network Rail’s Train Control Systems Framework (TCSF), meaning the company is set to receive a share of contracts worth £4 billion in total.

This will see Siemens deliver both digital and conventional signalling and control systems to help transform rail travel in the UK over the next decade.

Much of the firm’s technology is delivered from its Chippenham site, meaning a share of £4 billion in contracts could be a significant boost for the town.

Siemens recently announced a £100 million investment in a state-of-the-art factory, digital engineering, and research & development (R&D) facility in Chippenham.

This will replace the current factory at Langley Park.

As part of Network Rail’s TCSF, thousands of miles of Britain’s rail network signalling will be upgraded to provide faster, more frequent, and more reliable journeys.

This will include over 100 projects between now and 2034.
